We’re Palm Springs fans through + through, so it’s a good day here at GWS when we get to share two fun features from this ultra amaze place – yep, be sure to check back later today for a crazy fun wedding at the Ace Hotel! :)
You might be familiar with this sweet couple: Kelly of Studio DIY, and her fiancé Jeff! We were so excited when Kelly thought of GWS for sharing their stylish + fun engagement photos, captured on camera by Katie Stoops Photography and on film by Naz Films. When planning out the details of their e-sesh, Kelly + Jeff told Katie + Naz they were up for anything. Since they aren’t super serious, they knew they wanted to have fun with the shoot! Kelly tells us, Katie + Naz came up with the idea of a little pool party in the desert and we loved it. Two swim suits and kiddie pool later, we had ourselves a mini oasis. It was in the 50s that day, but we had so much fun you wouldn’t ever know! We’re so glad our engagement photos have a bit of a sense of humor, because it wouldn’t be us without it!
The Ace Hotel was a perfect place to grab some fun first shots!
Then it was off to Joshua Tree for more! And don’t K + J have mad style?! Hear a sweet + funny tidbit from Kelly about how they’ve always been this stylish at the very end of the post!

Jeff and I are high school sweethearts! We met when we were both voted best dressed our senior year. Since then our relationship has included five states, two continents and one tiny little dog before landing us in Los Angeles where we live now. We decided to get married in Palm Springs because it’s our happy place. We’re originally from the East Coast so virtually all of our guests are traveling in, and we thought the desert was the perfect place for a mini vacation for them! We’ve decided not to see each other before the ceremony, which means our photo time will be limited to our venue, a private estate. For that reason, we thought it would be fun to also do our engagement photos in Palm Springs so we could explore the city and have a little fun! We hit the Ace hotel and its nearby neighborhoods and then headed to Joshua Tree.

I love following her blog and reading along with their wedding journey. As a vendor, it always makes me so happy to see a couple embracing all the things they love and just going for the dream they’ve imagined without worrying about what’s “traditional” even though there is still plenty of tradition included in their wedding. :)
