Seattle Handmade Wedding: Paige + Trevor

bride and groom

I just love the photos from Braedon Photography in this beautiful Seattle wedding. Paige + Trevor choose the WithinSodo event space in Seattle for its blank slate and the fact that they could put their own unique touch on it. It also has a rooftop deck that was perfect since they really wanted an outdoor ceremony. Paige + Trevor put a lot of their time and personal touch on all the details including the invitations, signage, their ring book and the paper flower cones. Paige also made her own birdcage veil and sewed the lace onto her reception dress making it one-of-a-kind.

And here’s another importantat detail to their story – Braedon wasn’t even supposed to photograph their wedding! They hired the lovely Jen Huang from NY but she was stuck in NY since their wedding was the week of the hurricane there and Jen couldn’t make the wedding. But they hired a professional and Jen has an amazing team of photographers she can call if for some crazy reason – like a hurricane – and she can’t make it. Jen and Braedon both have very similar styles and I do know them both personally and can say they are both super sweet people, so the couple was in good hands! Important to make sure your wedding photographer – or any of your vendors for that fact- have a great backup plan in case something unseen happens. Anyways, the day was perfect and congrats to Paige + Trevor on their beautiful day!

From Paige, I gave my ladies a color palette (corals and oranges) and length and told them they could pick out their own. It was important to me that they could wear them again, and I didn’t want to make them spend $200 on a dress that they weren’t going to be able to enjoy again in the future.

I absolutely loved our ceremony. It was a casual standing ceremony on the rooftop outside and everything just felt so comfortable. I loved taking a break alone together after the ceremony and pictures. I loved our first dance. I loved spending time with my wonderful bridesmaids and family from out of town. But I think what I loved best was that Trevor and I pulled off the whole thing together. It was an exhausting week prior, an exhausting weekend, and we were the last ones out of the venue that night cleaning everything up; but the fact that we pulled it off side-by-side was really the most special thing to me.

One of my favorite things was that people kept telling us that our wedding was so “us” and it felt really personal. Everyone seemed to have a great time and really enjoyed how unique it was. It was exactly what we had envisioned from the very beginning. (So really, everything we did that day to pull off that feeling was my favorite!)
