Vintage-Inspired Portland Wedding: Rodellee + Robby

Pioneer Church Wedding

When today’s stunning wedding first hit our inbox, we found it virtually impossible to not simply sit and stare at Rodellee’s perfect dress all day. Then, we heard she is the owner of Adored Vintage (the most amazing online vintage shop) and it all started to make sense from there.

Yes, she completely restored her Victorian-era dress, and a gorgeous veil from the 1920s, but that is just the beginning of the beauty of this wedding day. Early on, Rodellee + Robby were set to have a larger wedding (with about 100 guests in attendance) but along the way they realized that they were losing sight of their original vision of a simple and beautiful “Jane Austen-esque” wedding set in the countryside. So, they turned it all around + a month before their former wedding date, they held a small, intimate celebration with just a few close friends + family members. One thing they didn’t forgo when they changed their plans was a great photographer, and Jess Hunter perfectly captured their sweet, sweet day for us all to see!

More about the dress from Rodellee, My wedding dress was originally a dressing robe the bride would have worn on her wedding night. The lace features a cherry motif which during Victorian times was a symbol for fertility. Several repairs in the lace had to be made and darts and tucks were hand sewn so the dress wouldn’t look too “costume-y”. I wore a pale pink silk 1930s bias cut slip underneath for a hint of color and a pale grey silk ribbon around my waist that originally was used on a bouquet my husband had given me for Valentine’s Day a couple of years ago. Basically my entire wedding attire was “something old.”

A perfect bouquet, by Ponderosa and Thyme, was on par with the rest of the beauty from this day.

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

Robby’s grandfather marrying us. He has married all his sons and all of his grandsons and prior to our wedding he had suffered a mild stroke. He was so concerned about forgetting the words that he practiced them every day for two weeks leading up to our wedding day.
