We’re kinda-sorta-super-insanely excited to share that all March long it’s gonna be Wedding Wednesday here at GWS! Pretty much just as evident as it sounds, since we have been getting SO many amazing weddings submitted each week, it seemed like the perfect time to share TWO incredible real weddings each Wednesday this month.
We’re starting WW off with a bang, thanks to Sarah + Leigh’s rad camp wedding full of DIY details captured by the one-and-only Phil Chester! Since Sarah is a wedding photog herself, and noticed she was shooting so many of the same wedding trends year after year, the main motivation behind her + Leigh’s big day was to make it really unique and reflective of them. Sarah tells us, I love the style of Aztec patterns which was the base of our inspiration with bright pops of colour. Being mostly outside, we also wanted to bring in natural elements like terrariums, arrows and succulents.
Sarah’s Hayley Paige ‘Coco’ dress gave her wedding day look some sweet wow-factor!
And LOVE her shoes – the Hexen Heel by Dolce Vita!
The Canadian mountains don’t make a half bad backdrop for a first look! ;)
Pretty sure it would be impossible to love Sarah’s protea, ranunculus and eucalyptus bouquet (by The Green Petal) more!
Sarah says, Leigh is an incredibly talented graphic artist so he designed all of the print material for our wedding with his unique style.
LOVING this ceremony space, right?!?!
Sarah: The most memorable part of the day for me was waiting with my mom before she walked me down the aisle. At that moment the butterflies started to happen and the moment the doors open for me to walk down, the tears came out. I really was super excited to be marrying my best friend.
Leigh: The moment she came down the aisle for me was the most memorable when I realized I was getting married to my best friend and the love of my life. I’m not an overly emotional guy, but being up front really took me away, it felt like it was only the two of us.
Processional: Groom + Best Man - Flowers in your Hair – The Lumineers; Maid of Honor: Big Jet Plane – Angus + Julia Stone; Bride: Home – Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros
Recessional: Skinny Love – Bon Iver + Stubborn Love – The Lumineers
First Dance: Stay With Me – Sam Smith
So good, right?! And if you loved Part 1 of this incredible wedding, you certainly won’t want to miss Part 2, featuring all the DIY elements these two creative folks incorporated into the environment! Check back soon!

LOVE this wedding, and it made me so much more excited for my own camping wedding this August!
That first tepee shot is incredible. I love the blues in the blanket and how sensual it feels.
I love how different her shoes are and the braid in her hair is really pretty too.
